There is no shortage of eateries in Cyprus, serving local delicacies and international dishes. So, when on holiday in Cyprus, indulge in traditional Cypriot delicacies like halloumi cheese and souvlaki, explore local tavernas and make sure to check out the independent restaurants.

We have already covered all the things to do in Cyprus, but now it is onto the most important stuff! What and where to eat in Cyprus. Read on to discover all our favourite restaurants in Larnaca and Paphos!

THE CUISINE in Cyrpus

Restaurants play homage to the flavours of Cyrpus - typical menus of meze are common in Cypriot Taverns, consisting of souvlaki (grilled meat kababs), fresh hummus, tzatziki, olives, and Greek salad. It may appear quite similar to Greek food, but the flavours have a Cypriot twist. Oh, and make sure to look out for the bright yellow-labelled Keo beer, perfect for sipping in the sun.

We found the pricing fairly reasonable in both Paphos and Larnaca, with main meals around €10. You could also find beer and wine for only a few euros at some restaurants, definitely a bargain with waterfront views!

OUR FAVOURITE PLACES TO EAT IN Paphos

With a plethora of waterfront restaurants, independent taverns and beach bars, Paphos has it all. You can find pretty much any cuisine along the Paphos waterfront, while the Old Town offers traditional eateries.

Plus, if you are looking for a unique bar experience, then definitely head to Flintstones - you step into the world of Yabba Dabba Doo with flamboyant cocktails and an absolutely buzzing atmosphere! You will thank us later!

Best restaurants in PAPHOS

📍 Ta MπaVia - Lively Restaurant and bAR Over the Seafront

Stormy skies couldn't dampen our spirits at Ta Mπavia in Paphos! 🌧️🍽️ It is a lively restaurant come lounge bar, perfect for an early dinner on Paphos seafront.

We indulged in a Meat platter with a side of Mediterranean views. Greek salad, pitta, dips - this spread was a feast! Note to self: skip the calamari next time! 🌊⚡️🥗 🦑🥙

Agora Tavern
Food in Cyprus

📍Agora Tavern - The Best Meze Experience

The PERFECT spot in the heart of Paphos, with an outdoor terrace and traditional meze at a brilliant price. Agora has no menu, instead offering sharing meze - meat, veggie or vegan options with a small or large version depending on the table size! 🥩🫑🥜🥗

We went for the meat meze for 2, at €24 in total for a lunch seating and the food just kept on coming! Tzatziki, cheese with caramelised nuts, greek salad, roasted pork, Cypriot potatoes… the chicken gyros were 😍👌🏼👏🏼 What more could you want….

Hands down you can’t fault it, another one to save when visiting Paphos!

The best Beach clubs in Paphos

📍Antasia Beach Club - Eye Catching Architecture & Breathtaking Sunset View

Beach club VIBES - we loved the spot at Antasia Beach Club! With a lively bar, sun-soaking tables overlooking the glistening sea and the perfect lounging set up - truly a day-to-night experience... What more could a girl want?

The laidback location is all under the spiral structure that perches off the coastal promenade. Modern, eye-catching architecture on Sodap Beach captures the perfect viewing platform. Antasia offers a day-to-night beach experience with amazing sunsets. Sadly, the rooftop bar was closed when we visited after a stormy afternoon, but we grabbed the perfect seats to watch the sunset. 🌅☀️🍷

Offering a wide range of cuisines from Sushi to Pasta, burgers to Cypriotic dishes, we were unsure what to get! We enjoyed the Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap and Fresh Tagliatelle with Calamari. 🥙🦑

We found the food a tad bland, but LOOK AT THAT VIEW 😍 Make sure to book so you don't miss out on those breathtaking sunsets.

📍 Sea You Beach Bar - Rustic & Romantic Beach Bar

Now this is a spot where the VIEWS make up for the food! 😅😬

Although a little drive from Paphos (or a hop on the 615 bus), it’s the perfect place for soaking in the evening sun with cocktails and a full dinner menu. We loved the rustic decor and attention to detail creating a lively beach club. The expresso martini was the perffffect accompaniment to watch the sunset with. ☕️🍸

It’s a gem for the ambiance and the view, but sadly the food didn’t hit the spot - dry salmon and an equally disappointing burger which were pretty pricey… But, we would recommend it for the perfect sun soaking spot and it is pretty romantic too! 🌅

OUR FAVOURITE Places to eat in Larnaca

There are so many places to eat in Larnaca, but these are a few of our favourites and a few gems for evening drinks whilst soaking up the last of the sun!

Coffee in Larnaca

📍StoArtos - Coffee with the Best View of St Lazarus

If you are looking for coffee in Larnaca, then this is the GO TO spot!! We loved this Coffee and Bakery spot right by the St. Lazarus square, just a few steps from the church of Agios Lazarus. We enjoyed some mini bakery snacks and a croissant the size of our head!! 🥐🍪

Best restaurants in Larnaca

📍Militzis Restaurant - the best traditional tavern

When in Larnaca, you HAVE to dine at Militzis. The restaurant launched in Lysi village where it quickly became the go to spot for locals. Now a prominent figure on the front of Piale Pasa serving local, authentic cuisine since 1984.

We went for grilled halloumi followed by a delicious, creamy Mousaka and a MELT in the mouth Kleftiko - the tender boneless beef is slow cooked for several hours in their traditional stone oven and you can tell! Huge portions and a great ambiance makes it a go to spot for your holiday. We were luckily able to get a walk-in table, however we definitely advise booking ahead! 🇨🇾

📍 Glikolemono - A Buzzing Italian Meal

Looking for an Italian in Larnaca? Look no further!! As our first night in Larnaca and it may be the best meal of the holiday. 😅 Just off the main promenade of Larnaca, we enjoyed the Chicken Linguine and Pepperoni Pizza - both suggestions by our waiter. 🍕🍝

Great staff, buzzing atmosphere and the cutest terrace area - plus great prices - our whole meal with wine and beer was just over €30. The pizza was huge and we took a few slices as takeaway for later! Defo a gem in Larnaca!!

📍 To Kafe Tis Chrysanthi’s - A Cafe Start Up to All Day Venue

Now this restaurant wasn’t always an all day favourite. Founded to be a little cafe in 2012, focused on providing homemade cakes, popularity has boosted it to landing an ever-growing brunch, lunch and dinner menu.

We ventured over for a mid-morning coffee and milkshake and ended up coming back for more! Dining in the evening we went for Italian Garlic Prawns followed by a mountain of salad! The special salad was topped with marinated chicken strops, avocado, grilled halloiumi and bacon - plentiful and tasty! The crispy chicken Milanese pasta was also perfectly cooked. Huge portions and a buzzing atmosphere made our evening here super enjoyable.

You do have to take a look at their cakes! Although we were super full, we couldn’t stop ourselves from walking away with a couple of desserts for later!

Best rooftop bar in Larnaca

📍 Helicon Rooftop Bar - Stunning Sunsets & Signature Cocktails

Opened in 2019, the glowing harp acts as a guide to this roof bar in Larnaca, actually one of very few of its kind in the area. 🌄🍹🌅 Sunsets over the mountains, signature cocktails and the beach still in sight makes the perfect combo for a good night.

We loved everything about Helicon, from the endearing hotel entrance, modern music and attentive staff. We were the eager guests arriving at 5:30pm in the October sun, however it meant we got the best seats to see the glowing sunset.

When in Larnaca, keep an eye out for the harp!! 🎼
