Birmingham Dining: the Best Restaurants in Birmingham
Living in Birmingham as a student meant we had a lottttt of time to kill, so we had our fair share of wining and dining in and around the Birmingham area. You can easily eat around the world without leaving Brum, so lets go through a few of our favourites Birmingham restaurants!
📍FazendA
Bringing the Pampas to the UK, Fazenda is based on an all you can eat meat setup as you use your double sided flash card to indicate continuous grilled meat carved straight off the skewer to your plate - but all at your own pace!
The chain serves a selection of grilled meats, side dishes and the market table - an endless selection of charcuterie, continental meats, fresh salads, veg, seafood - all at a set price depending on the time and location. This is an authentic dining experience for any meat fanatic with outstanding service.
Thoughts:
This is a stand out restaurant that we would LOVE to revisit, a traditional, yet modern restaurant with exceptional service and even better food. With exquisite flavours and culinary traditions of South America, the meats are served as soon as they are ready. Whilst you can get well done cuts, we always opted for the rarer meats - slivers of rare beef sirloin and generous chunks of fillet - divine. There is no other way to describe it other than an authentic gaucho experience.
And if you have room for desert then this is the sweet treats tray - a selection of Brazilian classic mini desserts. With 6 locations across the UK means even more reason for another visit to a new location.
Overall, we found this the perfect place for a special occasion or date night and the staff cater to any cooking & food preferences!
Fazenda dinner review:
Price: $$$ (fairly priced in our opinion - unlimited meat is priced at £45.90 in the evening)
Location: Located on Colmore Row, Fazenda Birmingham is in the core of the financial district.
Food: ★★★★★

📍Rudy’s, Bennetts Hill
With dough made daily, Rudy’s gives their pizza base 24 hours to ferment, whilst, it takes a mere 60 seconds in the pizza oven, just like Naples. Following their Manchester launch back in 2015. the neighbourhood pizzeria has taken taken the pizza market by storm, now dominating most major cities with 17 pizzerias. With only eyes for pizza, the chain has spent years perfecting their Neapolitan pizza.
Thoughts:
In our eyes, this is one of the best pizza spots in Birmingham. With good value (and large) pizzas, slick service, and super relaxed dining, this is a stand out spot. Plus the ingredients are imported twice a week from Naples to create the perfect Neapolitan pizza. And they have no rules when it comes to eating - grab the knives and forks or tuck in with your hands, just be warned they are so light and floppy you need to fold them for strength. If booking isn’t possible, a number of tables are saved for walk ins as the staff work their magic to keep the tables flowing.
Rudy’s dinner review:
Price: $$$ (you can get most pizzas for around a tenner)
Location: A stones throw away from New Street this is a great location.
Food: ★★★★☆

📍Zindiya Streatery and Bar, Moseley village
As a homage to India, Zindiya had the image of bringing streets of Delhi and the markets of Mumbai to Birmingham. Created by husband and wife team, the Streatery and bar focused on authentic street food with Indian small and large plates. Offering bottomless cocktails & street food, High Chai afternoon tea and the opportunity to purchase hand painted teal pots, the eatery offers something for every need and want!
Thoughts:
Located further afield, Zinidya is a definite jewel in the Moseley village and it’s perfect for groups! As a table of 16, we received welcoming and attentive service. The quirky decor resembles the likes of an Indian shanty town with a mix of retro and colourful posters.
Divided between a range of small and large plates we enjoyed pretty much everything on the menu, true to say every dish is burstling with flavour. We went for the aubergine fritters - sliced aubergine marinated and fried in gram flour - as an avid aubergine fan, this was a great hit, however, there was no crunch as expected. Also pictured is the chili chicken, another gorgeous small plate, however, note the word chilli. This had to be passed around the table as we recovered from the powerful heatwave occurring in our mouths.
The cocktails were as unique as the decor, with the From Ooty With Love (Lanique rose vodka with merit strawberry liqueur) arriving in a bag with a rubber duck - there really is a first time for everything! Innovative and pleasantly sweet to a tee. Main dishes were around the £8 mark, so not too steep and a nice alternative to central Birmingham.

📍Fiesta del Asado, Edgbaston
Looking for Argentina in Birmingham? Fiesta Del Asado offers the true Argentinian experience, with tender steaks flame-cooked on the parilla grill. If you get hooked, make sure to grab Fiesta del Asado’s exclusive El Barrio Privilege Card to gain scrumptious benefits next time you go!
Thoughts:
This one is another for the meat lovers and we highly recommend this Argentinian barbecue. We found the food flawless with a bustling atmosphere.
Even though it wasn’t the warmest of days we opted to eat in the back garden, a delightful courtyard full of flowers, music and, luckily, outdoor heaters! The interior boosts a large number of tables with quirky, wooden decor replicating a traditional Argentinian home.
Starting off we went for the wild Atlantic prawns tossed in chilli, garlic & parsley, on toasted Galician bread and the smoked black pork sausage flavoured with paprika & sweet caramelised onion, served with thinly-sliced fresh heritage tomato & onion, dressed with chimichurri. The steak options were perfectly lean and the sides do not disappoint! The eccentric blue ceramic plates add to the style, however, they did remind us of good-old, distinctive Wetherspoons plates. Overall, a big recommendation for special occasions with large groups more than welcome.
Fiesta Del Asado dinner review:
Price: $$$ (price = quality in this case, however, steaks start at £21.95, going up to £74.95)
Location: With two locations, Edgbaston & Solihull, we opted for Edgbaston. It is a good 45 minute walk from New Street so best to drive, bare in mind the car park is fairly small.
