The Best Brunch in Amsterdam
It turns out that the Dutch know how to throw a brunch! With restaurants on every corner of Amsterdam serving brunch options there is no wonder you will be spoilt for choice. To help here is another list of our top recommendations for Amsterdam brunches. Let’s start with some pancakes…
📍 Moak Panackes, De Pijp
Pancakes in Amsterdam are already one of a kind. We have featured Mr Stacks before (the biggest stack of pancakes ever - if you know, you know), but now we are moving on to Moak Pancakes.
Formerly known as MOOK, now MOAK, the pancake-only restaurant amended to include acknowledgement to their birth city of Amsterdam. This hotspot was launched in 2016 with the motto of serving great food, the juiciest juices, and a cool hip-hop vibe. As you have probably guessed, their menu honours pancakes, serving only pancakes with fruit, chocolate, bacon, salmon, cheese and even 22-karat gold leaves… There really is a pancake for everyone. Sadly they do not take reservations, although the staff do work hard to keep queues low. Moak is always a good idea, promise. And, if you love it as much as we did, you can always pick up some of their merch.
Thoughts:
The laid back atmosphere and tasty pancakes truely make Moak the pancake heaven. With an extensive menu, you are spoilt for choice. If you are splashing out then there is the Golddigger, made with their secret recipe ice-cream, 22-Karat gold leaf and of course some champagne on the side - a little bit out of our price range unfortunately. We had the G.O.O.D Morning (greek yoghurt, granola, cinnamon, honey and strawberries) and the Infamous (by Daily Paper) (banana, homemade chocolate sauce, melted peanut butter, fresh strawberries, fresh blackberries, cinnamon). Priced at €11.50 and €12.75 respectively - good value in our eyes.
Overall, we were super impressed by this pancake spot, with lovely staff and clean interior it made Sunday morning bliss with a hip-hop twist.

Location: We headed to MOAK PANCAKES PIJP, the perfect spot for a stroll along the Albert Cuyp market afterwards. Their two other options are Amsterdam Central or West.

📍Bagels and Beans
You can find a bagel and beans just about anywhere in Amsterdam. Located all over Amsterdam and the Netherlands, means you are never far away. Yes, you may think how has a company that specialises in bagels got so big? But, they aren't just any bagels. The hearty and freshly baked bagels are personalized with a range of fillings meaning no one will go hungry.
Thoughts:
The service was probably the best I have experienced in a cafe in Amsterdam. With my coffee and bagel arriving within 5 minutes, there is no fault with the speed and friendliness of the staff. I went for the banana and cinnamon bagel, and was happily surprised as the sweet balanced the spice with a healthy serving of maple syrup – sensible pricing is also a bonus as these can easily be a main meal! My filling bagel and coffee gave me change from €10, with the bagel at €4.15. There was no issue with me whipping out my laptop whilst enjoying my bagel and coffee for a few hours, although a lot of customers grab & go.

📍Lavinia Good Food
Head to Lavinia for a range of brunch options with a Lebanese and Mediterranean twist. With 2 locations in Amsterdam, this brunch location is definitely a feel good spot! They focus on being plant based with a range of vegan items, although they do have options for meat eaters. With the newspaper style menu there is bound to be something that catches your eye.
Thoughts:
On a super busy weekend we were lucky to get a table at this brunch location in central Amsterdam - although it is more hidden along the backstreets. Focused on health foods, the urban spot was opened in 2014. With exposed brick and rustic wood, this brunch location screams a laid back and warm vibe with conscious eating options.
The extensive menu offers plenty of options, however all with a slight health twist - if you are in the need for vitamins then this is the perfect brunch option. Although if you are not a fan of grains or nuts, you might be best choosing elsewhere! The lunchroom also doubles as a shop, selling juicers, superfoods and notebooks scattered around the room.
Our meals were light yet delicious, although we did feel rushed by the staff and it wasn’t cheap either! The Açai Bowl comes in at €14.50, with all other dishes around €14-18. However, we imagine during the week this would be the perfect place to spend a few hours engrossed in a book!

Location: Just afield from the main tourist attractions, we visited Lavinia Good Food in Central. With a second location in Amstelveenseweg this is perfect for a venture around Vondelpark.
